Answer:

4

Step-by-step explanation:

Let given rational number be x.

x (2/3) = 2x/3

Given, x (2/9) = (2x/3) + (-16/5)

⇒ (2x/9) - (2x/3) = -16/5

⇒ -4x/9 = -16/5

⇒ 4x/5 = 16/5

⇒ 4x = 16

⇒ x = 4

 \textbf{ANSWER:}

{\textbf{\green{let \: the \: fraction \: be : x}}}

now,

ravi was asked to multiply the no. with  \frac{2}{3}

but he mistakenly mutiply it by  \frac{2}{9}

acc. to this,

 \rightarrow \frac{2x}{9} =\frac{2x}{3}+(\frac{-16}{5})

 \rightarrow \frac{-4x}{5} =\frac{-16}{5}

 \rightarrow  {4x=16}

 \rightarrow  {x= 4}

{\textbf{\red{the \: rational \: will\: be : x=4}}}
