Ravi was suffering from cold the doctor gave him heavy dose of penicillin despite that ravi did not feel well for a long time can you explain this phenomena

cold is occur by virus and the doctor gave the antibiotic medicine who overcome the othe effect of cold like pain etc. but it is not for the virus so patient dont feel well long.

● Penicillin being an antibiotic can act only on bacterial infections and control that spread but cannot show effect on other microorganisms.
● Cold is caused due to influenza viral infection and hence any antibiotics cannot show their bactericidal effect on viruses.
