Hey dear,

There is some discrepancy in your question.

◆ Correct question should be-

Ravinder leaves home every day at 8 am and reaches office at 9:30 am One day he left his home at 8 am but travelled one third distance with half the normal speed. At how many times his normal speed did Ravinder travel at the remaining part of the journey if he managed to reach office on time?

◆ Answer-

v' = 2v

◆ Explaination-

Let x be total distance between office and home, v be normal speed.

Let v' be desired speed to cover remaining distance in time.

From given data we cam write eqns,

t = x/v = (x/3)/(v/2) + (2x/3)/(v')

x/v = 2x/3v + 2x/3v'

1/3v = 2/3v'

v' = 2v

Hence, Ravinder will have to go twice fast to cover remaining distance in time.

Hope it helps...
