Availability of raw materials: In determining the location of an industry, nearness to sources of raw material is of vital importance. Nearness to the sources of raw materials would reduce the cost of production of the industry.

Hey dear,

◆ Raw material affects the location of industries because -

  • Raw materials are vital for development of any industry.
  • Nearer the raw materials the better.
  • If the raw materials are too far, transport becomes too difficult & expensive.
  • For example, metallurgical industries are near the mines & textile industries are near cotton production area.
  • Therefore, availability of raw materials greatly influences location of industries.

Hope this helps you. Thanks for asking...
