Answer:

The cost price of the article is Rs.2250

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : Raymoon sold an article at a loss of 5% . If he had sold it for rupees 270 more, he would have gain 7%.

To find : The cp of article?

Solution :

Let the SP be x.

Loss=5%

Cost price of the article is

CP=\frac{100}{100-L\%} \times SP

CP=\frac{100}{100-5} \times x

CP=\frac{20x}{19} ......[1]

Now, gain = 7%

SP=\frac{100+g\%}{100} \times CP

SP=\frac{100+7}{100} \times \frac{20x}{19}

SP=\frac{107x}{95}

If he had sold it for rupees 270 more,

\frac{107x}{95}-x=270

107x-95x=270\times 95

12x=25650

x=2137.5

The selling price of the article is Rs.2137.5

Substitute the value of x in [1]

CP=\frac{20(2137.5)}{19}

CP=\frac{42750}{19}

CP=2250

The cost price of the article is Rs.2250
