The Rayon is not considered a synthetic fibre completely because it is not a 100% Synthetic fibre as it is extracted from the Cellulose that is found in the nature and is a naturally occurring polymer but after its extraction from the Cellulose the further steps that take place are Artificial that's why it can be termed as neither Artificial Fibre nor Synthetic Fibre. It is somewhere in between the Artificial and Natural Fibre.
However, we can call it with a new term Regenerated Fibre.
