According to the question, in the chemical reaction of RCN and HCl the results will be like this;

RCN+2H2O+HCl (diluted) = RCOOH+NH4Cl

This reaction is known as the "Nitrile Hydrolysis."

From this chemical reaction refluxed and distilled form of RCOOH is formed.

We have to use diluted HCl in this reaction because the strong HCl doesn't reacts with the RCN .
