Reabsorption of water is a process that is applied by large intestines.

Any absorbable nutrient and water is absorbed by the large intestines before the food is finally sent the colon.

This leftover is known as chime.

When the chyme is sent to the colon most of the water and nutrients in the food have already been absorbed by the body.

At this juncture the colon tries and pulls out any remaining nutrient and moisture and then passes on the waste.
