When acid reacts with metal , it produce salt and hydrogen gas.

When acid reacts with metal , it produce salt and hydrogen gas.ex - Zn + Cl = ZnCl2 + H2

As nitric acid (HNO3) is a strong oxidising agent , so when metal react with nitric acid , it will oxidise the H2 produced in the reaction into water (H2O) and itself get reduced to any oxides of nitrogen.

N2O - Nitrous oxide

NO - Nitric oxide

NO2 - Nitrogen dioxide
