The reaction between H2O and CuSO4 gives CuSO4. 5H2O which is a blue vitriol. The end product is known as copper sulfate pentahydrate. On dehydration of copper sulfate, the water molecule is lost resulting in the formation of copper sulfate monohydrate which is bluish white colour.
