Metals like Aluminium, Iron and zinc does not react either with cold or hot water. But they react with steam to form metal oxide and hydrogen. Iron reacts with water to form ferrsoferric oxide along with the release of Hydrogen. 3Fe + 4H2O Fe3O4 + 4H2.(The reaction is reversible).
