Manganese reacts with very dilute nitric acid …about 1%…to give its nitrate along with it hydrogen gas is evolved …but normally it doesn't give hydrogen gas with other metals except magnesium and manganese …as the nascent oxygen in it oxidises hydrogen to water…

Mn + 2HNO3(very dilute)→Mn(NO3)2 +H2
