Metals such as potassium, sodium and lithium react with oxygen very quickly. Calcium and magnesium are slightly less reactive and react withoxygen less quickly. Metals like copper and mercury react with oxygen very slowly and need to be heated continuously in order to see this happening

Hello friend!
Here's ur answer!
Reaction of metal and non-metals with oxygen
Metals react with oxygen to form metal oxides. The metal oxides are basic in nature.
Metal + Oxygen ————>Metal Oxide
Magnesium +oxygen —>Magnesium Oxide
1) 2 Mg(s) + O2 (g) —–> 2MgO(s)
Sodium +oxygen ——–> Sodium Oxide
2) 4Na(s) + O2 (g) —>2 Na2O (s)
3) 3Fe(s) + O2 (g)+ H20 (l) —–> Fe2O3 (s)
4) S (s) + O2 (g) ——> SO2 (g)
