The reaction of given aldehydes with Sodium hydrogen sulphite gives Bisuphite addition product of the reactant.

  • The reaction of these aldehydes with Sodium Hydrogen Sulphite involves nucleophilic addition of Hydrogen Sulphite ion to the aldehyde with results from breakage of Carbon-Oxygen double bond.
