Story written by George Eliot
George Eliot’s actual name is Mary Anne Evans. She changed her name to a male writer name many people mistake the women writers to be romantic poem writers. She always wanted her writings to be taken seriously. The poem ‘Count that day lost’ is about our deeds throughout the day.
If we have made someone happy, helped someone, made someone smile, eased other’s sorrows such days are well spent days. Whereas if we have not done any of the above and just being ourselves, those days are the worst days in our lives.
A really wonderful thought for finding the purpose of our lives.
Another poem by George Eliot is ‘Roses’. This poem talks about the imagination of sky raining with roses. The sight would be so beautiful with pink colour everywhere with sweet smelling, light roses falling. Everyone loves roses as they symbolise happiness around.
