There is extreme heat in the desert. Therefore, desert animals have certain adaptations that help them to survive there. Small animals sleep during the day in their burrow and come out at night since it is really hot during the day. Camels have other adaptations. They have the ability to survive without  water for a long time. They dung is dry and they do not sweat. They can drink lots of water at a time and survive without it for several days. They have large nostril and this prevents sand from entering. They also have long eyelashes to protect its eyes from sand during sandstorm and also from the sun. It has broad teeth to eat cactus. It has long legs to distance its body from the sand. It also has has soles under their feet which helps it to walk on soft sand without sinking into it.
