The poet describes Custard the Dragon in a very ferocious way. He says that the body of Custard is covered with spikes and his body underneath is covered with scales. He had big and sharp teeth. The poet also compares the mouth of the dragon to a fire place and aptly the nose is compared to a chimney. Custard also has daggers on his toes.
These words give a brief description of Custard that he is not a cowardice but he do has some fighting power in him which is overpowered by his fear.
