of course ! in some situation , friction supports the motion. for example : you take wheels in such a way that rotating one wheel rotates other wheel too in the opposite direction which is what you wanted, then that would be supporting the motion. and what I say above friction oppose the motion. if a body moves with respect to earth's surface , a contact force act between them , it acts in opposite direction of motion , e.g., friction.
