Bhopal gas tragedy occurred in 1986.The factory by name Union Carbide which produced a
very poisonous gas called methyl carbide was situated in Bhopal One early morning there
was an explosion and soon the whole area was engulfed in smoke. The gas spread to farther
areas. People were caught unawares. All those exposed to the gas became blind. Some died.
The survivours recall with a shudder that fateful day. Even small children became blind.
