Read the extract and answer the question that follows.

Unorganised sector characterised by small and scattered units which are largely outside the control of the government. There are rules and regulations but these are not followed. A lot depends on the whims of the employer. This sector includes a large number of people who are employed on their own doing small jobs such as selling on the street or doing repair work similarly farmers work on their own and hire labours as and when they require.

1. Give any one example of jobs under the unorganized sectors?

2. State any two ways in which the workers are exploited in the unorganized sector?

3. How can the interests of workers in unorganized sector be protected? Give any two such
measures.

1. Unorganized sectors includes small jobs such as selling on the street.

2. 1) their is no security of employment. 2) jobs are low paid and are not regular. 3) no provision for overtime works.

3. (i) Government can fix the minimum wages rate and working hours. ... (ii) Government can provide cheap and affordable basic services like education, health, food to these workers.
