Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both.
And be one traveller, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same.

- Yellow wood signifies the fall season when the leaves fall and turn yellow. along with it may also depict the aura of sunlight peeping in through the canopy.
- The traveller is the poet himself. He feels sorry because he has to choose any one of the two roads.
- The poet took the grassy road as it seemed to be an easy affair as it seemed to have been taken by several passersby even earlier..
