Read the following and answer the questions
Uniform circular motion describes the motion of a body traversing a circular
path at a constant speed. Since the body describes circular motion, its distance
from the axis of rotation remains constant at all times. Though the body’s
speed is constant, its velocity is not constant.
(i) What is the distance traveled by the object if it goes a complete round in a
a circular path of radius 50m?
(ii) What is the displacement in the above situation?
(iii) Calculate the speed of the object if it takes 20sec to complete around.
(iv) Calculate the average speed after completing 3 rounds.

Answer:
(i) Total distance traveled in circle will be equal to its circumference.
therefore, distance travel, s = 2πr
as r = 50m
so s = 2 x π x 50 = 314.16 m
so distance travel is = 314.16 m
(ii) as displacement is equal to difference of initial and final position, as both position is same so displacement will be Zero(0).
(iii) as Speed, v = distance traveled/ time taken
= 314.16/20
= 15.7 m/sec
(iv) as if time taken to complete each round will be same, so the avg speed will be same as first round, i.e, 15.7 m/sec.
