Answer:

a) Good morning, Mr. Harry - Formal

b) Good afternoon, Mr. Sinha - Formal

c) Hello! how are you? - Informal

d) What a pleasant surprise! - Informal

Explanation:

Formal greetings are those which are polite and brief. They do not make any personal statements. They neither ask questions. They simply maintain a strict code of formality. Also the addressal in formal expressions is through the surname with Mr. or Mrs. or Ms. before it. The person's name is never taken. In cases where the surname is not known a Mr. or Ms. is added before the first name.

In the first statement we find the person is being addressed as Mr. Harry. There is just a greeting of good morning and no other query.

The second statement too has a similar proposition.

The third statement however is more casual. It begins with an informal greeting and raises a question.

The fourth too is informal as it has an exclamation and is more personal.
