(a)Who is ‘his’ in line 1? Who does ‘us’ refer to?

(a)'His’in the first line refers to Lord Ullin and ‘us’ refers to Ullin's Daughter and her lover.

(b) It means that the chief of Ulva island wants the boatman to save him as his life alone could make his bride cheerful.

(c) The lover would be slain because he had eloped with Lord Ullin's daughter. Lord Ullin was very angry. He wanted to kill the lover.
