Read the following paragraph about 'Fish and their types':
The fish evolved from invertebrate ancestors about 500 million years ago, and have
dominated the world's oceans, lakes, and rivers ever since. There are three main types of fish:
bony fish (which includes such familiar species as tuna and salmon); cartilaginous fish (which
includes sharks, rays, and skates); and jawless fish (a small family made up entirely of
hagfish and lampreys).
They breathe through the gills, which serves the same function as our lungs. Bony fishes have
only a single gill. Fish has a closed-loop circulatory system. They are an omnivorous group
because they feed on plants and other small sea animals of water bodies. Fishes excrete
nitrogenous substances and ammonia. Fishes reproduce highly in open waters only. The most
common type of fish are Siamese fighting fish (scientific name: Betta Splendens), Common
Carp (scientific name: Cyprinuscario), Goldfish (scientific name: Carassius auratus),
Swordfish (scientific name: Xiphias gladius) and so on.

Fish are a class of aquatic vertebrates. The combination of gills, fins and the fact that they live only in the water make fish different from all other animals. And some...not so much. Fish spend all of their lives in the water and are cold-blooded with the exception of Tuna family and the Mackerel shark family.
