Most women did not get education or job training. Only the daughters of nobles e
wealthier members of the Third Estate could study at a convent. After that, their familie
arranged a marriage for them. Working women also had to take care of their familie
that is, cook, and fresh water, queue up for bread and look after the children. That
wages were lower than those of men.
