The main hall of the House of Ocelot was packed with
men attending a council of war.
Asamodo , Commander of the Royal Guard, sat on a
platform at one end of the hall with several of his senior
officers beside him. Asamodo was older than most of those
present, a veteran of many battles, with scars to show for it.
There was a tense, expectant silence as he rose to his feet.
“ Noble Knights of the Ocelot, Warriors and Members of
this House,” he proclaimed, “ as you are aware, a new
campaign of war is about to begin. I call upon you all to take up
arms in the name of the King.”
The men rose to their feet with a shout of acclamation
that echoed from the roofs and could be heard several streets
away.
Tio shouted with the rest with all the force of his lungs.
He stood beside a pillar at the back of the hall where the
youngest members of the House were gathered.
