The flesh of the green coconut is used as a vegetable the milk inside the young nut as a fresh drink, ropes, malting and brooms are made from the outside layers which protect the nuts. And lastly mature nut flesh is dried to be the world important source of vegetable fats and oils. All this comes from a tree which will grow in pure sand.
