Read the following passage, underline the adjectives and state their kind in
the table mentioned below.
On a holiday to the United Kingdom, I happened to visit an old Victorian
house in the British countryside. We had to pass through acres of greenery
before the house came in sight. The house had a high roof and large doors
and windows. There were as many as twenty rooms and a huge dining
room which could seat over a hundred people at a time. This room had
massive chandeliers, candlesticks and figurines. The table was laid with the
finest Chinese porcelain.
The rooms were painted in various colours and the windows were heavily
draped to keep the light and heat out. The bedrooms were spacious and
had antique furniture. The king-sized beds were so plush, one immediately
felt like sinking into them for a peaceful sleep. The heavy rugs on the floor.
the huge wardrobes, the life-sized portraits hanging on the walls and the
eene silence all transport the visitor to the aristocratic lifestyle of Victorian
England. Each room made use of strong dark wood of ebony, mahogany
and teak. Even the floors and the false ceilings in the rooms were made of
wood. Long after I left the house, I still could not get over the splendour of
that majestic house. What would life be in a house like that?
