Read the following poem.Compare the theme of the poem with that of 'Mending Wall' and prepare a critical appreciation.
Walls and Fences
Walls and fences
All around
Creating boundaries
Both inside and out
Every word spoken
Just adds on
Building this wall
That cannot be undone
Pause and reflect
On the cost one bears
To put this wall up
That isn't even there
Its about time
That we realize
These walls and fences
Are just malice
Not far behind
Lived on the plains
Where walls and fences
Were nowhere to be seen
Oh what I would give
To go back to those days
Where soul,heart and body
Were all one and at peace.......

This poem ‘Walls and Fences’ has almost the same theme as that of the poem ‘Mending Walls’, written by Robert Frost.
Both poems question the reason of building walls between the lands, which actually depicts the creation of barriers between two humans.
Both poems cite that the real walls exist between the minds of the people, taking them far apart from each other.
A widely accepted theme of "The Mending Wall" narrates the self-imposed obstruction that prevents human discussion.
In the poem, the neighbor of speaker pointlessly reconstruct a wall; more than helping anyone, the fence is harmful to them.
But the neighbor is relentless in its maintenance.
The speaker is upset with his neighbor does not think seriously about the fence, instead of relying on traditional reasoning.
