These hormones increases the breakdown of glycogen resulting in an increased concentration of glucose in the blood and hence incresasing its uptake in emergency!!

Also, the pancreatic hormone glucagon plays an important role in maintaining the normal blood glucose levels. Glucagon acts on liver cell and stimulates glycogenolysis(i.e.breakdown of glycogen) resulting in an increased blood sugar level.

Now, surgical removal of liver i.e. hepatectomy will result in decrease in the blood sugar level..
