Both Assertion (A) and Reason (R) are true and Reason (R) is not the correct explanation of Assertion.
- Under the colonial rule definitely the development of railways, ports, water transport, posts and telegraphs did happen. Britishers gave efforts in it because of their own benefit. They had to communicate with the other Britishers, transport goods, etc. due to which they had to build a network system. They build various ports to carry
- But the roads constructed before the colonial regime were just tracks made of mud which were definitely not fit for modern transport. These roads became miserable especially at the time of monsoons therefore the Britishers had to focus on building proper roads.
