Read the following story. Underline the adverbs and circle the verbs they qualify.
Birbal's Painting
Once, Akbar wanted to test Birbal's cleverness. He suddenly said, "Birbal,
make me a painting." He also warned angrily, "If you do not complete it in
one week, then you shall be punished!” The clever Birbal came up with
an idea.
After one week, he went to the court. Me carefully carried a covered parcel!
Akbar welcomed Birbal happily, but when he saw the painting he was
angry. There was nothing in the painting except the sky and the ground.
There were a few green lines on the ground. Akbas asked grimly, Birbal,
what is this?" Birbal replied calmly, "A cow eating the lush, green grass.
Akbar asked impatiently, "Where is the cow? Where is the grass?"
\Birbal replied boldly, "I used my imagination. The cow ate the grass and
returned to its shed!" Akbar laughed delightedly at Birbal's wit He gifted
him a bag of gold coins for his cleverness.
