Read the given passage and answer the following Questions
King Alpharoo got down from his horse. He went to help the mule -driver. Both of them
pulled and pushed until they succeeded is getting the mule on the firm ground. By this time
they were covered with mud. A number of people collect by this time and they shot by
watching. Then someone recognized the king. People began to whisper to each other that it
wast the king himself who had helped the mule driver, when the mule driver heard this he
was very frightened the turned ro him and begged for his for givenness. affairs told that he
had done his duty as a man he may be a king but as a man he should help those who are in
some difficulty. Thus the king put to shame all those passers by who would not help.
A. Answer the following

(a) and (b) : The mule driver was frightened when he knew that the one who helped him in getting the mule on the firm ground was the King.

  • He asked the king for forgiveness as being such a great person he helped the mule driver.

(c) The king gave a response that he had done his duty of helping as a man. He may be a king but as a man all should help others who are in trouble or difficulty.

  • This way he put to shame the passers by as the passers by were not helping the mule driver.

(d) Meaning of 'on the firm ground' is well supported. Meaning of 'put to shame' is disgrace someone.
