Read the given passage and on the basis of your reading of the passage, complete the following sentences:

Public speaking involves speaking to a group of people with the purpose to convince, influence, educate, and persuade them. Public speaking comprises of a set of skills that all work together to help you achieve your objective for presenting an idea, a thought, a product, or even a service to a certain group of people.

Many people panic at the thought of speaking to a group, and only a small percentage of the population are actually able to speak confidently when standing in front of a crowd. But because public speaking skills are considered necessary and vital for every working professional, particularly for people who always find themselves speaking in front of a group, it is something that must be learned and developed.

Public speaking is an art of presenting an idea, a product or a service to the crowd or to the public. It’s a challenging art to master since it will require the speaker to persuade the crowd or at least carefully educate the listeners about the topic discussed.

The voice is the best tool in public speaking. Without the voice one would not be able to deliver a single speech because he/she will never be heard. The voice allows communicating to the audience, conveying ideas and even soliciting emotions and reactions because of the compelling speech.

The ability to deliver a speech in public is a highly regarded skill. It’s a skill that does not simply require knowledge of the topic but the ability to inform and keep the audience interested during the speech. A great public speaker could even invoke emotions and could trigger reactions from the audience.

The body language is one of the factors that will determine the success or failure of the speech. Apart from the actual speech the audience will notice how the body moves as it is used to accentuate an idea. Facial expressions, hand movements and even the movements of the feet could be used in an effective speech.

Mastering public speaking is a relatively easy task for some individuals. These individuals just need careful coaching before they finally master the art of public speaking. Through practice and careful research on the topic, public speech can be easily handled.
