Read the given passage and write its summary. Suggest a suitable title:-
The Olympic Games are the most famous international competitions in the world, with a growing
number of disciplines or events. Though they differ vastly from regional Games of ancient Greece,
there are also a few are common to both.
History has proved that the people of ancient Greece were very fond of an athletics and the
athletic competitions and festivals had an almost religious significance. The four main athletic
festivals were the Isthmian, the Nemean, the Pythian and the Olympian, each at a different sport
near some sacred place. Of these, the Olympian festival became first a national and later an international competition, held every four years and dating at least as far back as 776 B.C. The Games were so
called because they were held on the Plain of Olympia. The athletic ground was a huge complex
with temples and monuments. The Games took place at around the time of the full moon, in August,
and had its own form of training and set of rules.
The Games lasted for several days and there were fixed programmes for each day. The victors wore crowns of wild olives and, although they received no prize money, they were humbly rewarded by their state authorities and by the recognition they received.
