Read the given passage.
There is a large class of men who have an underdeveloped taste for reading books. What is needed is
a good teacher to stimulate them to read. It is true that all the students would rarely become great
scholars. But the mark of a civilized human is the use he or she makes for his or her leisure, and no
better use can be made of a leisure than to read a good book. The humbler is the position of a human,
the greater is the value of him or her to a love of reading. If he or she has a big house, motor cars,
friends and other means of recreation, he or she may do without books. If not, a single book can serve
to extend his or her thoughts beyond the range of everyday interests. Books will become his or her
good friends, true guides and trustworthy companions.
Now find out from the passage, at least, one (0.5x8=4marks)
a) Countable noun
b) Uncountable noun
c) Adjective
d) Adverb
e) Infinitive
f) Gerund
g) Books will become his or her good friends, true guides and trustworthy companions.(
Change to present continuous tense)
h) ‘It is true that all the students would rarely become great scholars’. The sentence is all
time true and is termed as_truth. ( always\universal\all time). Choose appropriate option.
