Explanation: There is an activity is given to us in this question, we have perform it, the activity says that we have to use plastic cup, soy sauce and water to perform this activity. It is said that we have to add 2 tablespoons of water in that plastic cup then we have to add a drop of soy sauce there. Afterthat let us observe the activity that what is happening with this experiment....Now we have to answer the following questions these are related to our performed activity. Let's do it!

Question 1. In the soy sauce and water solution, you observed that soy sauce spread throughout the water, why did this happen?

Answer 1. Yes it is true that in our activity soy sauce spread throughout the water, it is because the soy sauce is homogeneous mixture, homogeneous mixture is that mixture which is completely mixture with the solvent.

Explanations:

➟ Those substances which are soluble in water is known as soluble substance.

➟ Physical classification of matters are divided into three forms - Solid state, liquid state and gaseous state.

  • Solid state possesses definite shape and definite volume like metals, woods etc.
  • Liquid state possesses definite volume but no definite shape like water, oil, milk etc.
  • Gaseous state does not have any definite shape and volume like air, oxygen etc.

➟ Mixtures are that material obtain by mixing two or more substances in any indefinite proposition like milk, sea water, petrol etc. There are two types of mixture as Homogeneous mixture and Heterogeneous mixture.

➣ There are so many ways to separate mixtures. Let's see some ways to separate mixtures - Sublimation, filtration, evaporation, condensation, fractional distillation, purification, sedimentation, decantation, chromatography, distillation.

Question 2. What can you infer about the movements of the particles of water and soy sauce in the water?

Answer 2.

I am infering about the movements of the particles of water and soy sauce in the water as the process of diffusion of water.

The solid is inherent in the soy sauce may further be dissolved in solution with solvent and stay suspended in water, unit it could also do the process of precipitation, happen in low temperatures.

Question 3. Think about water and soy sauce as made of tiny particles. Give the reason you made in Question 2.

Answer 3. Yes as water and soy sauce as made of tiny particles, there that given process is taking place due to some reasons:

➟ Diffusion help in movement of substances.

➟ Diffusion is the process of molecules

➣ When atoms join with other similar or different atoms, molecules are formed.

➣ The smallest particle of a substance is called atom.

Henceforth, we have done. Hope it's helpful!
