Read the paragraph below.

The extracurricular activities my father proposed failed to intrigue me. The volleyball club at the community center boasts of competitive tournaments, and the basketball clinic at the high school describes intense training drills. Though these would offer physical outlets, exercise is not my top priority because I already play soccer on the weekends. I countered with my own suggestions: a robotics class or a math club.

Which statement best describes the author's viewpoint?
A. The author wishes his father would allow him to relax after school.
B. The author is seeking intellectual stimulation from his activities.
C.The author does not enjoy playing competitive sports.
D.The author prefers soccer over academic activities.

the answer will be D, that is, as per the option, the author had an inclination toward soccer.

He was not allergic to other sports but his opinion was that, since he was already enrolled into the soccer club, it would be good on the weekends to join a math or a robotics club.

At the same time, the volleyball and the basketball tournaments failed to intrigue him, as they had drilling practising sessions and they were also exhausting if he played them along with soccer.
