Right to Information and Fight against corruption

  • Corruption is an ailment to a good society. It is prevalent in the society since independence and its negative consequences are irrecoverable, especially poor. The government has taken several measures to tackle and prevent corruption and formulated policies to improve public-government co-ordination.  
  • One such measure which the government has formulated is e-Seva initiatives to improve public delivery services. Once to get Government documents it would involve a lot of manual intervention and approval form various levels of state and central departments.  
  • Now with technological improvement, documents can be obtained with nil corruption as this advocates transparency in its operation.  
  • Right To Information (RTI) Act passed in 2005 is yet another initiative, which answered almost all the questions which the common public raised to the Government.
