The young neem leaves are pale and tender and green with a tinge of rust. The leaves are dried and

put in drawers and cup boards to keep out moth and cockroaches. Another use for these “magic”

leaves is that they are used to heal wounds. The famous Margosa oil is obtained from the yellow

fruit of the tree. It is used for the treatment of leprosy and skin diseases . Farmers are using neem

leaves to make a disinfectant. They gather leaves and put them in a tub of hot water and let it rest

for about a week. Next the leaves are made in to pulp. The pulp is then put through a muslin cloth

and the water that comes through is used to swab floors. Progressive farmers who do not wish to

use insecticide also use similar solution to spray their crops with.
