Read the passage carefully and answer the questions that follow:
Garbage is a great environmental hazard. It comes from various sourcesused paper, tiffin packings, plastic bags, ice- cream wrappers, bottle
caps, fallen leaves from trees and many more. Garbage makes the
premises ugly, unkempt and breeds diseases. A lot of trash that is thrown
away contains material that can be recycled and reused such as paper,
metals and glass which can be sent to the nearest recycling centre or
disposed of to the junk dealer. It also contains organic matter such as
leaves which can enrich soil fertility. QUESTION- HOW CAN WE INCREASE SOIL FERTILITY

Answer:

We can increase soil fertility by many methods , either by organic methods or inorganic methods . The organic methods include , Garbage layering , decomposition etc. the inorganic methods include the addition of fertilisers , insecticide and pesticides. But the use of inorganic methods is not recommended for a long run at all because it destroys the mineral capacity of the soil and also increases the pH level . We should try to use more and more organic methods to make soil fertile and also prevent soil erosion as it makes the top soils that is very fertile to flow away . We can prevent soil erosion by growing grasses , small plants , building dams etc.
