Read the passage given below and answer the questions that follow:
In the last decade or so, much has been done for the protection of wildlife. All over the world we have become aware of the fact that many species of animals are becoming scarce. National parks and sanctuaries have been set up. Certain species have been introduced in the areas where they had become extinct. In India we find that the population of the tigers is increasing in various tiger reserves. In Canada beavers have been reintroduced in certain regions. One important aspect of animal preservation is that majority of useful work has been done mainly for animals which are of some economic benefit to man. Most of the other animals are protected only on paper. They are allowed to die out because nobody can make any financial gain out of them. It is only some zoologist who consider that every animal, every species is important to maintain ecological balance in nature. After all, this balance has been created by nature through millions of years. Man in his greed does not understand this fact: he too is part of this scheme of nature. And if he lets just one species to vanish it will put his own life at risk on the earth ultimately. Human population is increasing year by year. Man wants to make his life more and more comfortable. Forests are being cut to get more land for agriculture so that enough food can be made available to the growing population. It is important for man to realize the truth: man inspite of his genius cannot create a new species nor can he recreate one he has destroyed. It is time to be warned.
