Given :- Read the situation described below and answer the question. Amisha goes to her bank to withdraw money. When she reaches, there are 5 customers Q, R, S, T and U waiting before her as shown. The time that each person requires at the counter is also shown. The bank has 3 counters, and as each becomes free, the first person in the queue is called to that counter. (For example: The person already in counter 1 requires 10 seconds more (as shown) - then customer U will be called to Counter 1 and so on.)

To Find :- How long will Amisha have to wait ?

Solution :-

from image we can see that,

→ Counter 1 will free in = 10 seconds .

  • Amisha waiting time = 10 seconds.

now, U goes to counter 1 and spend 50 seconds .

meanwhile in next 40 seconds counter two will be free .

so,

  • Amisha has to wait for next = 40 seconds .

now, T goes to counter 2 and spend 110 seconds .

in next 10 seconds again counter 1 will be free .

  • Amisha has to wait for next = 10 seconds .

S will goes to counter 1 and spend 40 seconds.

  • Amisha has to wait for next = 40 seconds .

now, again counter 1 is free and R goes to counter 1 and spend 70 seconds .

till now we have,

  • Time spend = 10 + 40 + 10 + 40 = 100 seconds => In next 50 seconds counter three will be free .
  • 10 + 40 = 50 => in next 60 seconds counter two will be free .

then, we can conclude that,

  • Amisha has to wait for next = 50 seconds .
  • Now, Q goes to counter three .
  • And, in next 10 seconds , counter two is free and amisha goes there .

therefore,

→ Total time amisha has to wait = 100 + 50 + 10 = 160 seconds (Ans.)

Hence, amisha will have to wait for 160 seconds and she goes to counter two .
