Answer:
Swami was probably one of the first characters introduced to us in our childhood through the TV show ‘Malgudi Days’. And for some of us, Swami found his way through our textbooks. Either way, it encouraged me to pick the book up. The fictional town of Malgudi traversing through changes post independence, sounds like a serious theme. Doesn’t it ? Well, for all we know it is a fascinating world for Swami. There is a Swami in all of us, curious, grandma’s pet, afraid of the stricter parent and just trying to get by his day. Simple and endearing. The narration is witty, one is always left with a smile. It is something one could always go back to.
