• The poet used his imagination to escape the reality of his life.
• He would read and imagine himself living in different worlds.
• The poet imagined himself as a cowboy, a pirate, etc. and these things used to please him a lot.
• He could get away from the continuous and tiring grind of his life by living in imaginary situations and worlds where he did great things.
