Read this poem about two girls, and
how they turned an old bottle into
a wind chime.
It's such a pretty bottle
Said one girl to the other.
Words wind chime: a pretty piece of glass, shell or metal that one
to
know: near a door or a window, so that it makes a tinkling sound
She held it up to summer sky
wind blows
dump: a place for putting rubbish or waste
as if she'd found a shell.
junk: an old article
hat is not used anymore
They were walking through the dump again
dangling: hanging or swinging loosely
porch: a covered area in front of the house
stepping over bicycles
broken bricks and dinner plates-
this junk they knew so well.
