αnswer :-

~Here,

→ The semi-colon is used because the first sentence is related to the second one. The first sentence tells that She didn’t saw the other car coming and the second sentence indicates that her car got a huge dent because of that other car.

_______

Explanation :-

Semi-colon ( ; ) is a punctuation mark.

Uses of Semi-colon :

  • It is used to connect two sentences that are related.

Example –

⇒ Visit them tomorrow ; they will be home.

  • It is used to separate items in a list, where one or more items already have commas.

Example –

⇒ The prize winners are from Preet Vihar , Delhi ; Jaipur , Rajasthan ; Chennai , Tamil Nadu.

  • We do not use a conjunction when we use a semi-colon.

Example –

⇒ She has two brothers ; they live in Canada.
