1. The lion did not kill the jackal cub as he was a child and lion was fond of him

2. The lioness got angry as the jackal was only a cub. She told her husband, that when he himself didn't eat the cub then why should she even. They then decided to raise the cub.

3. The friendship between the cubs changed as one day when an elephant approached them, the lions went forward to attack, while the jackal insisted on going back. The lions started making fun of his cowardice which made him upset.

4. The continuous mocking of the jackal made him very upset. The lions told the parents how jackal ran away when the elephant came and was a coward.

5. Later, when the mother lioness spoke to jackal, he said, that he was not inferior to them in any practice and he has vowed to kill them as my revenge. On hearing this, the lioness told him to leave and join his own species.
