We have to find the reading of ammeter A₁ , A₂ and A₃ will be respectively :-

  1. 1A , 0A , 1A
  2. 1A , 1A , 2A
  3. 1A , 0.5A , 0.5A
  4. none of these

There are two loops in the given circuit. let i₁ current flows through first loop (left one) and i₂ current flows through 2nd loop (right one).

for 1st loop,

6 × i₁ + 2(i₁ - i₂) - 10V = 0

⇒8i₁ - 2i₂ = 10 ...(1)

for 2nd loop,

2(i₂ - i₁) = -4

⇒i₂ - i₁ = -2 ...(2)

from equations (1) and (2) we get,

i₁ = 1A and i₂ = -1A ( negative sign indicate it in opposite direction of what we assumed.)

now reading of ammeters

A₁ = i₁ = 1 A

A₂ = i₂ = 1A

A₃ = (i₁ - i₂) = (1 - (-1)) = 2A

Therefore the correct option is (2) 1A, 1A , 2A
